Kiern Jewiss selected as a BRDC Rising Star
Kiern Jewiss has been inducted into the British Racing Drivers’ Club’s Rising Stars programme, continuing the upward momentum for the British F4 Championship leader.
The championship lead, five wins and twelve podiums finishes in the 2018 British F4 Championship has not gone unnoticed, and Kiern Jewiss has been selected to join the most successful racing drivers from Great Britain and the Commonwealth at the British Racing Drivers’ Club.
Founded in 1928, the BRDC is arguably the most exclusive club in motor racing and membership of the BRDC is highly sought after and extremely difficult to achieve. The BRDC Rising Stars are very much the future of the Club and are in effect ‘Junior Members’ of the Club, with the ability to stay on the scheme until the year in which they turn 24.
Scouted from the trackside, Kiern was then invited to Silverstone for a meeting, after which, Kiern was selected to become a BRDC Rising Star and will now contest his races whilst wearing the scheme’s unique ‘blue roundel’. BRDC Rising Stars has a proven track record of selecting only the best of individuals, such as triple Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton MBE, and fellow MB Partners’ drivers, Tom Blomqvist and Andrew Watson.
Kiern is extremely honoured to be selected onto this exclusive programme and hopes he can do the club proud over the years to come.
“I’m extremely proud and honoured to be selected as a BRDC Rising Star, it’s a special moment in my career. I aim to represent the Club to the best of my abilities and add my name to the list of successful drivers that have passed through the ranks.”
Mark Blundell, MB Partners’ CEO and a BRDC Member, is pleased to see Kiern’s success rewarded with Rising Stars status.
“Kiern is one of the most talented young, British drivers in the country at the moment and it’s fantastic to see him inducted onto the Rising Stars programme. A lifetime Member of the BRDC myself, I believe Kiern will do a brilliant job representing the club and will be another success story from the Rising Star scheme.”
Luke Evans, BRDC Club Operations, is fully confident in Kiern’s potential.
“The BRDC is delighted to welcome Kiern to the Rising Star scheme. We’ve been monitoring Kiern’s progress since his move into Ginettas last year and we’ve been extremely impressed with his performances in this year’s British F4 Championship. We are fully confident that he has the potential to be a very successful racing driver and we hope to assist in his journey as much as possible.”
