Kiern Jewiss heads to Brands Hatch for home race

Kiern Jewiss is looking forward to heading to his home event at Brands Hatch as the BRDC British F3 Championship descends on the Kent circuit for the third round of the season.

Following a successful start to the season in which Kiern has claimed a race win and four further top-five finishes from seven races, the 18-year-old occupies third in the championship standings and is just 38 points behind the title leader.

Kiern boasts a strong track record at Brands Hatch with his maiden BRDC British F3 victory coming at the 2.433-mile track in 2019 coupled with prior success in the British F4 Championship during his title-winning campaign in 2018.

“It’s always nice to head back to your home track, especially when you have some good memories of it. I’ve had a very consistent start to the year and been in the top-five more often than not so hopefully I can continue that form this weekend. That consistency is important with the extra race again this weekend so we need to make the most of that.

“We’ve been busy learning and understanding what we need to do with the car so we’ll put those changes to the test this weekend and hopefully keep that form going.”

The weekend will be the second of the season to run four races – the schedule starting with qualifying at 09:00 on Saturday morning, followed by the first two races at 11:45 and 14:55. Sunday sees races three and four take place at 10:25 and 15:45 respectively.
