Jewiss heads to Donington for F3 finale

Kiern Jewiss heads to Donington Park, Leicestershire, for the final round of the BRDC British F3 season and the FM Conway-sponsored youngster aims to continue his strong recent form and end his year on a high.

After an impressive performance last time out at Silverstone, which saw the 17-year-old secure double pole position and two trips to the podium, the Kent-based driver will be keen to close the gap to third-placed Ayrton Simmons.

Despite a challenging start to the season, Kiern’s hard work and persistence means the BRDC Superstar has emerged as one of the four drivers still capable of lifting the title this weekend. This comes off the back of an impressive five podiums in the last seven races, including his maiden win at Brands Hatch and maiden double pole at Silverstone.

The championship returns to Donington Park having raced there in the fourth round of the season back in June. One of the favourites on the calendar, its sweeping corners and fast back sections make for some great racing and a circuit Kiern has fond memories of.

“I always enjoy racing at Donington, it’s definitely one of my favourites on the calendar. I won from the back of the grid in F4 last year and was on the podium here earlier in the year. The last few rounds have been really positive and the aim is to continue that momentum this weekend.”

“Mathematically, we are still in the championship fight but I’m not even thinking about that and my aim this weekend is to pick up the best results we can and prove how much we’ve developed from the start of the year.”

The Donington Park weekend kicks off with testing on Thursday and Friday, before qualifying at 11:15 on Saturday. Saturday’s action continues with race one at 15:35 and resumes on Sunday with races two and three at 10:40 and 15:45 respectively.
