Solid performance from Jewiss in the first round of the WSK Super Master Series
London 8th March 2016 – MB Partners’ Young Driver Kiern Jewiss made a strong start to the 2016 WSK Super Master Series in Castelletto, Italy, finishing P5 at the end of an eventful weekend.
Though poor weather conditions had forced the suspension of qualifying heats on Saturday, track conditions were improved for the pre-finals and finals on Sunday.
Jewiss started pre-finals in P9. His solid performance and determination provided plenty of action, delighting viewers with a continued fight for the top 5 positions throughout the race, gaining five places to P4 by the chequered flag.
In the finals, Kiern consistently fended off competition, driving an impressive, measured race which saw him finishing in P5.
Reflecting on the weekend, Jewiss commented: “It wasn’t a bad start to the WSK season. We clawed some good points but it wasn’t easy. We can see our strengths as well as our weaknesses and I feel that when everything comes together, the team and I will be an unstoppable force. I have to thank my mechanic Mansell, as he pushed and helped me a lot this weekend. I will now work towards improving myself, ready for Sarno.”
Kieren Clark, Head of the MB Partners Young Driver Academy, added: “Another strong performance from Kiern this weekend, which leaves him 6th in the championship. The overtaking manoeuvres were fantastic, and as always he’s the one to watch in the races. He understands the areas which need to be worked on, so I have no doubt in my mind that Kiern will be back to his winning ways in the next round.”
The next round of the WSK Super Master Series will be held in Sarno (Salerno), Italy on 20th March 2016.
